BEARS AND BALLS for MARY

A collection of new teddy bears and balls (basketballs, soccer balls, baseballs, footballs) to donate in memory of Mary is being organized by our fellow 4th grade student, Skylar. You can drop them off directly to the Franklin Elementary by December 18th. They will be donated to our local Highmark Caring Place. They help grieving children, adolescents, and their families.

MARY CHRISTMAS PROJECT

This past weekend, a fourth grade student at Franklin, Mary Friedl, suddenly and tragically passed away at Children’s Hospital.  One of Mary's close friends, Olivia Klaich, decided to organize a “Mary Christmas Project” in Mary’s memory. The project aims to gift a Beanie Boo stuffed toy to each patient at Pittsburgh’s Children’s Hospital this holiday. To support this thoughtful project, we’ve set up a collection box inside the front doors of Franklin to collect Beanie Boos. Each Beanie Boo will get a special unicorn tag on it, in honor of Mary.

Please consider donating a Beanie Boo, or cash that will be used to purchase Beanie Boos, by December 13, 2017. That will allow for enough time to get each stuffed toy tagged with a unicorn and delivered to Children’s Hospital. Cash donations may be brought into the office at Franklin. Mary’s kindness and wonderful energy made a lasting impression on so many people in our school and community.  Please consider participating in this project to honor her memory.
